Fear and Doubts

I just woke up from a dream in which I was clubbing with my older sister and a couple of friends. In the dreamscape, everyone disappeared. They all went to get drunk and high and I was left alone and I spent my time looking for them. What has that got to do with fear and doubt? Not that much, it was just a dream.

And perhaps a clever segue into the premise that fear and doubt are dream killers; I could have had a whale of a time on that dance floor and made new friends or I could have flown high in the sky. It was my dream and I could have made it amazing.

I want to talk about our conscious dreams and the doubts and fears which can be barriers to their realization. I’ve been listening to Earl Nightingale for a few nights on the trot. He says, “The problem is people think they have to blend in and be like everyone else.” Unfortunately, they’re following the people who are not succeeding. Success is doing the thing you dream you want to do and doing it well. If you dream of being a mother, then do that and be the best mother you can be. If you desire to teach, be the very best you can be. Or be a bus driver or an astronaut. It doesn’t matter, but it must be YOUR DREAM.

OWN IT!

Why not follow your dreams? They belong to you. It’s one of the things that makes life exciting and livable. Everything that exists now started as somebody’s dream. Do you think they had a clear road map? No. Do you think they had all the skills and experience before they even started? Of course, they didn’t. They got excited and inspired and they allowed that to be their driving force through life. Did they come across fear and doubt? Who doesn’t? They just didn’t let fear and uncertainty guide their life’s decisions. It’s what you do with fear and doubt that matters most. It has no power without your endorsement. Acknowledge it, then step over it and on you go.

Trust the power of the universe and all its magical ways to help guide you to the manifestation of your dream inspired reality. And always remember it’s not about the destination, it’s still the journey that matters most. Think about this: does it feel better to be excited and inspired? Or fear-filled and full of doubt? Make following your dreams a way of life and even if you never arrive, you’ll have the best time trying.

Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.
– Ralph Waldo Emerson

Remember you have access to great power, that power is love!
