Hey there, lovely people!
Today, I want to talk about something incredibly close to my heart: the Hilarapy Recovery Project (HRP). As the creator of Hilarapy, a comedian, and a therapist, this project has taken me on a whirlwind of emotions and experiences that I can’t wait to share with you.
When I first dreamed up the Hilarapy Recovery Project, I wanted to do something truly special. I wanted to create a space where individuals could come together, heal, grow, and share their stories of survival and recovery, and do it all with a healthy dose of laughter. Bring some light to the darkness of the opioid crisis. I wanted to emphasize that recovery is possible and many people are loving their clean and sober lives.
Our first show was in April 2023, and it was a night to remember. The love in that room was palpable, and the laughter filled every nook and cranny. I can’t even count the number of messages and emails I received afterwards from people expressing how deeply moved they were by the performances. It was a reminder that storytelling, especially when infused with humour, has the power to touch hearts and change lives.
Guess what? The HRP is on fire, my friends! We are getting booked for more and more shows. In fact, we’re even heading to a University later this year to spread our unique brand of Hilarapy. It’s an opportunity to connect and show that recovery isn’t just about struggle but also about finding joy and embracing a new lease on life.
One of the most incredible things about the Hilarapy Recovery Project is witnessing the impact it has on people who are new to recovery. I meet folks every single day who are just starting their journey, and it can be a wobbly and uncertain time. But when they see the commitment, joy, and rewards of recovery presented in a hilarious and uplifting way, it lights a fire within them. It reminds them that recovery is more than just giving up something; it’s about gaining a whole new world of possibilities. A life!
Oh, and listen up, White Rock! The HRP is coming your way! We’re bringing the show to the Elks Hall on June 16th, 2023, and you better believe it’s going to be a night to remember. We’ll spread laughter, share triumph stories, and celebrate life. So, don’t you dare miss out on this opportunity to break down stigma, find inspiration, and laugh your head off. Everyone Welcome!
To all of you who have been touched by addiction, I want you to know that you are not alone. The Hilarapy Recovery Project stands as a shining beacon of hope and resilience. We’re here to remind you that even in the darkest moments, there’s always room for laughter and connection.
So, my friends, join us on this wild and wonderful journey. Let’s come together, share our stories, and spread hope through the magic of laughter. Because, trust me, when we laugh, we heal.
Lots of Love,
