Addictive Comedy performed its first show featuring Lizzie Allan, Karina Cebuliak, Ellen Bradley-Cheung and with guest Trevor at Centennial Arena in White Rock. 100 people attended after what was supposed to be performed at Laura's Coffee Shop with an audience of 25.

Addictive Comedy was officially incorporated on August 14th, 2018. Before this date, Addictive Comedy had already performed four shows to sold-out audiences and raised tens of thousands of dollars for local nonprofits and organizations.

Presented by the City of White Rock in partnership with the White Rock BIA. Hilarapy's first non-fiction book is completed and ready to be released. This is a how-to-book which focuses on comedy therapy and how the reader can make it work for them. It becomes a powerful tool for Hilarapy to incorporate into the overall Hilarapy program and integrate it into the Hilarapy Tribe Membership Community. With this book, along with the TEDx Talk and all the cumulative resources available in the Hilarapy Tribe, all the ingredients exist for a member to engage in their own fully formed self-guided comedy therapy program.

Is a late summer launch a solid business option? Does this book align with typical summer book products? Would it be better suited for a September launch with a promotion window leading to Christmas? Can we take advantage of increased consumer spending during Black Friday and Cyber Monday?

Is it best to release the physical book and the digital audio book at the same time, taking advantage of the promotional push and providing two purchase options with two price points? Or would it be best to separate the physical book launch from the digital audio book launch? Bring the audio book in later to re-energize the sales offering?

Hilarapy Expands Their Book Products

The purpose is to increase the impact and sales of the first book.

Examples includes companion books that supplement the Hilarapy Hero's Journey. Ancillary products could include various workbooks, affirmation books, stick-it notes with a range of affirmations on each*, Hilarapy-themed notebooks with affirmations and positive and inspiring quotes.

e.g., Investigate a partnership with 3M's Post-It Notes whereby Hilarapy and 3M partner on production and distribution of Hilarapy Post-It Notes - each note containing an inspiring affirmation. Other partnerships could include companies like Indigo, where they position themselves as Canada's largest purveyor of ideas and inspiration to enrich your life. Indigo could bundle the Hilarapy book with our ancillary book products.

Hilarapy Launches the Hilarapy Book Club

The purpose of the Hilarapy Book Club is to re-enforce the Hilarapy brand highlighting aligned book authors and products that focuses on our message. 

This initiative is one of the steps in negotiating guest lecturers to speak at our retreats, appear as guests on our docu-series, become guests on our podcasts or other distributed content. Promoting these select authors and their books through the club and across Hilarapy branded offerings presents an added incentive for them to work with us.

The Hilarapy Book Club can bring us closer to people who are aligned to us.

This is where we run  shows and invite test audiences allowing us to train management and staff as well as work out the kinks in every area of the operation from front of house to the tech equipment, from the kitchen to the parking lot.

General Manager and Assistant will create Hilarapy Studios Training Manual/Hilarapy Studios Operations Manual and all operations procedures for each department are represented.

**Note to self: apply for business operating license. COVID Protocols may include a specific Seating, Cleaning, and Security  Plan.

**Hiring of kitchen staff/wait staff/ tech staff/General Manager/GM Assistant who handles scheduling and studio logistics

The GM when hired should be able to begin shaping a staff training plan with timeline to meet our pre-launch objectives. This person will extensive staff training experience and will lead each department to submit their section to the Hilarapy Studios Operations Manual.

We work with The City of White Rock for permissions for road closures, searchlights in the front for the big launch gala.

This is where we do Phil's grand idea of limos, lights, invite all the VIPs and media to attend. We send out Photo Calls to Assignment Editors with the best time to shoot the visuals of the opening. It's Showtime!

The Studio will run:
- Courses
- Workshops
- Retreats
- Guest Speakers (also works in conjunction with Book Club for cross promoting for them. Could include Brené Brown, Russell Brand, etc.; people who are aligned with Hilarapy's vision)
- Shows
- Improv/Theatre Sports
- ie. Hilarapy Supper Series $149/person, 75 people max. 5 course meal (Chef?) and Show. These shows are dressed in doctor/patient outfits. Audience is part of the show as patients and wait staff are dressed as medical staff. This becomes a signature show and can be expanded and toured to the UK and elsewhere.

On July 28, 2020, Hilarapy signed a two year option with Windowbox Media Ltd.

September 2021 Principal Photography Begins
Filming Starts for Docu-Series

Windowbox Media Ltd. begins shooting the docu-series, Hilarapy: A Traumedy Series.  Since Hilarapy Studios retrofit has been delayed by the pandemic closing of the City of White Rock, Hilarapy will work with Wondowbox to secure alternate locations in which filming may take place. We have already scouted two suitable locations with them. The hope is Hilarapy Studios will be completed to be the location for shooting the season finale episode which closes with the students' graduate performance.

We expect the series to stream the first episode of the series in the summer of 2022.  Since a broadcaster/streamer has yet to be secured, this is a best-guess scenario.

Hilarapy Talent is the name of the division.

This agency will eventually handle the booking of talent at venues around the world. The agency also manages tours, negotiates contracts with venues, sets up tour schedules, accommodations, ground transfers, per diems etc.

In other words, the talent agency handles all outfacing activities that artists are engaged in.

Since Hilarapy Studios will still be relatively new at the beginning, and our talent will be honing their skills, we will start small and locally, and grow to regional, provincial, western Canada, national, etc., over time.

The idea is to have two signature events a year and the event is sponsored. Hilarapy Presents is the marquee division that handles scripted and unscripted content (skits, comedy, sketch comedy, etc.). This production company is focused on producing in-house content for distribution.

Initially, we can start with smaller engagements like TELUS Storyhive to place our productions. They include Storyhive productions on their Optik TV platform. They also partner and provide productions funding.

In partnership with Glastonbury, the largest outdoor festival in the UK, with an audience capacity of 210,000. The Celebration will partner with the Pyramid Stage, create the concept, shape the line-up, create the show, and curate the A-list comedy headliners to join the Lizzie Allan Heart of Hilarapy Celebration. (Russell Brand, Oprah Winfrey, Prince Harry, not necessary have to be comedians, as long as they are aligned, Dolly Parton?)

The Me You Can't See, co-created and produced by Harry and Oprah features stories from high profile guests and others about mental health and emotional wellbeing issues. Apple TV + streams May 21, 2021
